Triangulum is one of the first three European Smart Cities and Communities Lighthouse Projects (SCC1) funded by the European Union\u2019s Research and Innovation Framework Programme Horizon 2020. Having started in February 2015, Triangulum is slowly nearing completion, resulting in numerous outcomes and lessons learnt that the project thus now wants to share with communities, industries and other stakeholders curious on smart city solutions and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Triangulum\u2019s\nthree Lighthouse Cities Manchester (UK), Eindhoven (NL) and Stavanger (NO) have\nbeen implementing and testing innovative projects focusing on sustainable\nmobility, energy, ICT and business opportunities.<em> \u201cWithin our project\nconsortium, we combine the interdisciplinary experience and the expertise of 22\npartners from industry, research and municipalities that all share the same\nobjective and commitment to develop and implement smart solutions and have them\nreplicated in our three Fellow Cities Leipzig (D), Prague (CZ) and Sabadell (ES<\/em>)\u201d,\nsays Trinidad Fernandez, Project Coordinator of Triangulum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore,\nTriangulum is pleased to invite all interested stakeholders and smart city\nenthusiasts to celebrate five years of innovative and smart solutions. Learn\nfrom their experience and contribute together to a more climate friendly Europe\nin the future!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday,\n23.09., the conference will start with a welcome by Trinidad Fernandez (Fraunhofer\nIAO), speaking about Triangulum as a European flagship project for the smart\ncity transformation and acceleration. As the Mayor of Stavanger, the hosting\ncity, Christine Sagen Helg\u00f8 will welcome the audience. Jens Bartholmes from the\nEuropean Commission\/DG ENER will then give a presentation to illustrate the\nbigger picture of the Horizon 2020 programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will\nbe two <strong>key notes<\/strong> by <strong>Martin Brynskov<\/strong> (Chair of Open &amp; Agile Smart\nCities, Director of the Centre for Digital Transformation of Cities &amp;\nCommunities and Associate Professor at Aarhus University), speaking about \u201cSetting\nthe Foundation for Scale Up of Smart Cities Solutions\u201d and <strong>Steve Turner<\/strong> (Digital Cities Lead at Arup), speaking\nabout \u201cShifting Worlds\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>An\ninteractive afternoon for innovation experts and enthusiasts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>The\nafternoon is really about getting into an interactive exchange between the\nexperienced Triangulum partners on the one side and external smart city experts\nand the audience on the other side<\/em>\u201d, explains Gerd Seehuus, City\nCoordinator of Triangulum\u2019s Lighthouse City Stavanger. Within four interactive\nsessions, ranging from topics like \u201cClimate Change \u2013 What Cities Can Do!\u201d to \u201cSmart\nGovernance for Smart Cities\u201d, \u201cWe All Can! How Citizens Make the Change\u201d and\n\u201cBeyond the Project: Replication and Investment of Smart City Solutions\u201d, Triangulum\nwill exchange its own stories and experiences with external professionals and\nthe public. Replicable success stories from the three Lighthouse- and Fellow\nCities will be shared, including lessons learnt and connections to the outside\nworld. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During all\ncoffee and lunch breaks, Triangulum invites to grab a coffee and a snack and to\nbrowse its \u201cInnovation Marketspace\u201d where the Triangulum partners will provide\nlive and hands-on demonstrations of their various innovations, such as Lyse\u2019s\nBLINK video solution or the WoonConnect app. Vin Sumner, CEO of Clicks&amp;Links\nis looking forward to showcase his innovation: \u201c<em>With our Virtual Reality\nBike, you can experience Manchester \u2013 or any other city \u2013 by cycling on a\nphysical bike without actually leaving your home. <\/em><em>The bike uses real-world scan data from cities and\ngives the user freedom to ride a virtual bicycle through these environments.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday, 24.09., Triangulum is merging into the official Nordic Edge Expo and Conference 2019 where they will be co-organising the session \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicedgeexpo.org\/program\/on-a-mission-for-the-european-cities-of-the-future-achievements-challenges-opportunities \">On a Mission for the European Cities of the Future \u2013 Achievements, Challenges, Opportunities<\/a>\u201d together with Nordic Edge, the European Commission, the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities &amp; Communities (EIP-SCC), the EU Smart Cities Information System (SCIS) &amp; Stavanger Region European Office. During this session, the two new SCC1 projects MAKING-CITY and +CityXChange will be introduced. Before finally \u201chanding over\u201d to them, Triangulum will present \u201cThe Triangulum Journey &#8211; Six Cities and Their Ripple Effects\u201d to showcase its main outcomes and learnings and to talk about best practices regarding monitoring and evaluation.
